To be a roofer and lead an easy life is simply a contradiction. Roofing is something that requires you to be in great physical shape and health. As this profession involves heavy effort as regards bending, kneeling, picking up heavy stuff and climbing big buildings, this choice of career surely isn’t for someone who wants an easy-going, laid back professional life.

Roofing causes enough strain physically. But in addition to all this, it also can be a little dangerous also. Working on top of the roofs during winter and monsoon months is a very scary proposition as the rooftops can get highly slippery and disrupt work to a great extent.

When we talk of damages, it should be seen that even working in summer months could be very dangerous. Working on top of the roofs can lead to skin-related illness and diseases.

Well, little more information for roofing enthusiasts! Generally a good physical health condition and fine balance are necessary for people wanting to become a roofer by profession. Additionally, these roofing aspirants should not be possessed by a height phobia.

Roofing aspirants generally pick up jobs as assistants to well-establishes roofing experts and pick up the skill. Some of these aspirants also take up a side course to escalate their skill. Some might also choose to take up a proper 3 year-long apprenticeship.

It has been observed that almost all salaried roofers work for roofing contractors. A meager percentage of 20% of the total roofers were said to being self-employed. And out these, many self-employed roofing guys were said to be specializing in residential works

A major concentration on the residential business can be attributed to the fact that residential business presents big scope for experimentation with roofing designs, color patterns and material. This way they also get a chance to spread their goodwill.

So conclusively, if a roofer wants to earn some handsome amount of money, he should be chipped at his skill. Additionally, he should also be willing to work under tough climatic conditions. If a roofer can manage to give a normal leaf-proof roof over the structure, hes to be considered quite good at his work.
